Cons to Stripping?

So far, I have eventually stripped all my coated infi.

I have not done my B11 or my KZII yet.

I usually wait to strip them until I have finished convexing the edges, and am satisfied.

The reason I like to convex them while they are coated, is it cuts down on scratches higher up on the blade.

Should not have too much effect on the resale value. If it is a user, beat up finish and stripped user are a wash.

I do like nekid infi a lot. I really don't see any need to pretty it up.

It is easier to clean it up.

I would not worry about rust, but then again, I don't live on the coast, or in a swamp.

I have not had any rust issues with my stripped infi.

I do know, occasionally you can get a spot or two of decarb that you may have to rub off. Even scotch bright pads are enough for me.

So far, I've only considered stripping the users, but haven't yet.

I guess I haven't stripped because I'm worried about losing my dignity.... :D

So tonight it's officially stripped, I like it alot better, don't think I am going to satin it, I really like the contrast of finishing grind marks on the blade and dimples on the non ground portion. Looks like a deep V grind and a light buff out on the blade then done, with the John Holmes on the way, this is my number one camp knife now.

Happy Trails...

Well I guess it didn't happen because my lovely little wife got all dolled up for Halloween and lost my camera in a hedonistic tizzy of dia de la muerte excitement.

and I don't have pics of that either because she lost my damn camera. :grumpy:

If you want though you should come up to my place, you can have a Tecate, see the B11, smell my fingers to verify the stink of steel and then watch a marathon of Predators on Blu-Ray.:p

That's really good looking. Did you do the work? Very nice convexing; and is it bead blasted or a ScotchBrite finish?

Thanks for the compliment. I stripped all pictured. I took it to a satin finish and then had it BB.

I like the nekkid blades better than the coated.
