Considering a new Emerson - Roadhouse?

fwiw- I traded for a mini Roadhouse recently and was sure I was going to flip it but... it's in my pocket and I have a Tan Roadie incoming.
hmmmmm...

I've had the same experience. I traded for a CQC7BW. I'd never had an Emerson before so I thought I'd give it a chance. When I first got it, I wasn't sure I liked it. It wasn't smooth, the blade had a fair amount of side-to-side play when closed. I put it up for sale. I kept looking at it though, trying to find some love for it. I decided I'd take it apart and see what the issue was. I noticed that the washers weren't contact the liner and blade flush. It was also full of gunk. I cleaned it and replaced the original washers with Teflon washers and that took care of everything. It was now smooth to open and close and the blade play was gone. I took it off sale and it now is one of my favorites. That's why I thought I'd give another Emerson a try as well. The roadhouse is still on my list, but I will have to sell some other knives before I purchase one. Anyone interested in a Spyderco Manix-2 Lightweight? ;)

I'm looking to do this exact thing to a CQC-7B myself!

May I ask where you got the Teflon washers, and what size they are?

Thanks!

Actually they are for a Hinderer knife. I got them from Monkey Edge. They are much thinner than the original washers so I doubled them up on each side. In the mean time, Emerson is sending me a new set of washers.
