Considering a passaround.

Oh my!!!:D
Ok, so if we are going to do a passaround, we need to figure out who really wants to try it out. If you are going to be included you will need to take pics and post a review in the Outdoor Gear, Survival Equipment & More forum.
All of the standards for passarounds will be required as well.

These are the rules from Spark.

Hi Mack - looks like a cutlass! Very nice design - I anticipate a real winner here.

Is the spine going to be square or will you have it rounded? (Nevermind - just read backwards up the thread a bit - I was thinking that would be awesome on this knife and a little swedge would be great too!)

best regards -

I like the way you think Andy.
By the way, it will probably be going to you first. I hope you have some good stuff to cut with it.
Angling the handle down like it is should help to put your wrist in a more proper position while cutting than a straight handle. I'll be interested to hear if you think it helps.

Hi Mack -

Honored! I will do some good pictures with it and cut up some meat.

thanks!

best regards -

I'd love to be allowed to participate in a passaround on this.
Since it's your knife, how much insurance will you want it shipped with?

You're more than welcome to join in. I think $175 will be good for insurance.

It`s heat treating today, will be cleaning it up tomorrow and glueing handles on. Watch for photos of it on Monday. The Boss is in the middle of 9 straight days of work, so I`m getting lots done!

Sounds great. I hope the Boss is being well paid for her efforts.
By the way. I figure this is going to be a handful. What is your opinion so far?

Thank you Andy. That is exactly what I was modeling this after. :D

As for the passaround, if you guys are still interested I'm thinking it will go like this.
Andy Mqqn:) first then 1066vik then Kyenglish and finally kyturkey.
If my timing is right I could be going through Kentucky in time to pick it up in person.
That is my hope.

Okay, starting to feel the responsibility now, :). So anything other then skinning?

Anything you would use it for if it was your knife. John made it so I don't expect it to break. Use it. Cut up some wood, cut up some food, take it to a butcher shop and cut up a cow. You name it.
Please take pictures and give it a review.

That should work.

Rifle season just ended, and I haven't shot one yet (watched three different small bucks a couple days). Muzzle loader season is the second week in Dec. maybe it will work out to butcher a deer with it then.
