Considering first custom - need help

but from a functional and size perspective, a Mnandi seems like it would be similar.
I'll let you be the judge... ;)

The third pic has more of what Bob offers in this size range; (Top to bottom) Small Chinese. Small Stalker. Two Bladed Folder.

One correction. While the size is the same as the one at Truenorth, that one is a liner lock, while mine is a framelock. Otherwise it's as close as you'll get to a direct comparison. (Only on BF... ;) )

Thanks GigOne. Check your PM.

PM checked. . .and I've been blinded by envy ! :D

I'm not sure if the proper terminology is: "something sick about your addiction" or "that's one wicked addiction." :p ;)

Maybe both. :D

Dave:
If the pivot thing is real important, I would suggest that you stick with the Sebenza. I have spent plenty of money on customs and I always seem to come back to some version of the large Sebenza. As a package I think it's a hard knife to beat. As far as customs I think that Tom Mayo and John W. Smith are top notch. I don't think that Tom is taking orders but I'm pretty sure John Smith would fix you up but his backlog I think is about 6-8 months.
I'm sure that neither uses the bushing you describe. The Loscha is also a great knife, probably the closest to a Sebenza. I think Scott's backlog is about 18 months.

I think that customs should be a part of any knife-nuts collection but for everyday use and abuse I think that the Sebenza and a Mnandi or two would do ya just fine.  ;) :p :)

I do want to say thanks to everyone, I have looked a alot of knives more critically then before. I posted a wanted for exceptional wood sebenzas and I got some replies. This makes it harder as there are some really nice ones out there. For the moment I'm going to think about it some more.

Let me ask another question, can anyone estimate what percenatge a Tom Mayo'd sebenza is to a Mayo custom? ( Outside of ergos)

Boy that's really a tough one. Tom's knives are slimmer and more precise. But I think that the clip on the Sebenza is more effective. He did a sweet job on a large Seb for me. But I believe that Tom is no longer doing the Seb mods. That puts my Mayonized Seb in the safe along with my TNT's. I think that putting out a percentage would be relatively subjective, But all in the name of fun I would say about 80%. Which reminds me, I really , really, really need a TNT in S30V with an anonodized frame and a cool pattern of holes  . HMMMM, maybe if I beg Tom enough at Blade Show West he'll do one for me!  :p :D
