Considering selling everything off to get a Sebenza

I'm trying to pare down my life. I carry a GEC Tom's Choice Barlow 99.9% of the time anyway, so I'm trying to not be sentimental and horde-y and get rid of the rest of my meager collection, minus a choice few that have historical or true personal value.

In that vein, I'm considering selling off my knives and buying a left handed small Sebenza with an insignio blade.

I think with just the one traditional and the one modern I would be able to bond with each knife and actually carry both.

Am I nuts?

You are nuts if you think you will stop at one CRK. Otherwise a sound plan. (btw the Tom's Choice Barlow is sweet!)

I have always liked the idea of a one knife that you bond with, but have found it hard to achieve(or in my case get very close at all-too many attachments). I could see the small Insignio working well in that situation. If any one knife would work, a CRK has a great chance of being it. That actually was the plan when I purchase my original small Sebenza, but to say I got off plan is an understatement.
As for being nuts, that is between you and your psychiatrist :).

If I had to pick the "one knife" the small Insingo would be it and it's actually what I carry 90% of the time. But, most of my knives are well worn enough they they wouldn't bring as much as they are worth for me to keep so I have one in every drawer, car console and camera bag. I find that a handy practice and it's always nice to rediscover the joy of using an old favorite. Now where did I put that battered BM940?

Not crazy at all.

You carry one of finest production traditional slip joints. Might as well pair it up with one of best production modern folders. ;)

Not crazy at all. They really are on a whole new level in the production folder world.

Not crazy one bit. I prefer the large sizes more, but any Sebenza pairs very nicely with a slip joint in my opinion.

To most folks, yeah you're nuts. For the folks that have CRK's, you're right on track. If you make it happen, you'll come to know it aligns with what is sensible for you.

The sm Insingo could be the last knife you need to buy.
Chances are it will not. ;)
Buying a Sebenza is always a wise decision!

Great, now I'm not sure. The Inkosi is more in line with the size of knives I like to carry. Do they make one with an Insignio blade?

I think it's a solid plan to get rid of things and de-clutter. You won't regret the CRK purchase.

The first Sebenza that really caught my eye (and gave me the bug from which I've never recovered) was a small plain Insingo.
Many have come and gone, but I still have that one.
I have no doubt you'll be satisfied.

Bought my first a week week and a half ago now have a second. I'm slowly getting rid of knives I haven't touched in a long time because I know now it's going to be a lot longer till I touch them now owning these. Keeping a few trads and a few fix blades I like the rest are going.

Its hard to stop at one lol. If i had to bet, the Inkosi platform will feature an Insingo blade eventually. I'll have one immediately lol

Not nuts, now that I've finally bought my southpaw Sebbie, I'm sorting through knives to sell off.

Might be underwhelmed at first but after using for a little while you'll grow ever more appreciative of the knifes excellence and eventually it will become your go to companion and you'll sell of everything you own to get another one.

I sold off the majority of my collection years ago to purchase a Small Sebenza 21. My first "mid tech" folder; one that cost more than $300.
Then I ended up with 7 other CRKs, several strider SnGs, and an XM-18. I later sold all my striders, the XM, and 6 of the 7 CRKs.

I landed on a Large Sebenza 21. EDC'd this one primarily for the past 4 years, but it did not completely kick out some of my production folders. Such as the Spyderco Sage 2 (sentimental/great edc) and Tenacious (beater). I will still rotate these 3, but the 21 does get the most carry. Recently I've had an itch to pick up a Spyderco Military. After all these years the urge to revisit past folders grabs a hold of me.

Depending on your personality you may be able to settle on one knife; a CRK, but I would not hold my breathe if your previous habits tell a different story.
