Considering switching to the straight razor.

I've gone through the progression from cheap plastic bulk razors to decent cartridges, DE safety razors, a shavette and now on to straights. As some have already said, if you're getting into straights to save money, start laughing at yourself now. I find straight razor shaving to be meditative, a ritual I really look forward to. But I've spent a small fortune on stones, strops (leather and balsa and lapidary pastes), vintage razors on auction sites, and shave soap, aftershave, shave towels and towel warmer, and on ad nauseum. I own a few dozen straights now from brand new to 200 years old, and all shapes and sizes.
Same lol. Besides the towel warmer. Send link now please.

I'm a newb here so I'm not sure if commercial links are verboten, but this is the one I have. It's a relatively new purchase. I had a cheapo pink one for a few months before I decided to be ridiculous.

Oh now that is cool. I converted an old cigar humidor to my razor cabinet. Leathwr work is my hobby so I lined the shelves with different fancy veg tan leathers I had left over from other projects. My buddy restores razors so I find some and send to him and also just get some off him.

That's a fantastic idea! I've been formulating a good layout for a razor cabinet I can 3D print and embellish somehow. Maybe leather line it similar to you and have a space in it for re-usable desiccant. But a humidor is a much better starting point.
