That's looks amazing. What did you use to achieve that angle?

Wicket edge plus tormek small knife jig and the extended rods. But... S30V at that angle will not hold, you can see the chip near the tip... that's from cutting a zip tie. I will soon be giving her 15 dps micro to get that chip out, it may form a visible 3rd bevel instead of micro bevel.

Hopefully I've gotten to you in time. Don't Do It ! Don't Ruin That Master Piece !
Come on back off that ledge . . . we will talk about it . . . it's not that bad
It's not worth it . . . cutting wire ties is not worth it . . . keep that beautiful knife just as it is and carry some other thing for cutting wire ties.

I finally gave up. Even though my knives can easily cut wire ties I chip my ZDP-189 even at factory grinds, ooomph, ooomph, oomph. I've decided shallow angles and my ZDP-189 are must haves so something had to go :
cutting of wire ties with some of my knives . . . well all of them . . . except for :

Super thin AND shallow ground SAK. He never EVER chips with shallow. Go figure.
And most of the time if I am in work clothes I have my ultra tiny diagonal cutters on my belt pouch so I prefer that anyway.

Don't ruin that beautiful edge !
Team up :

SAKs shown above in previous post take up almost zero pocket space.

And or a nipper. Caution sharp end; round over or put in a pouch / slip.

This Norton Blue 3X grinding wheel will get you there RIGHTNOW. Cuts cool too . . . that is what that stone is all about.

PS :
Don't have a grinder; don't want to have sparks showering onto the white carpet in your apartment ?
noooooo problem

(a weird thing I will never get used to ; the stainless steel super knives don't make sparks much at all) (man the plain high carbon blades on the other hand . . . preeeeeetty !)

get a granite tile from the home center and use some double back thin tape or spray mount adhesive to glue a section of one or more of these NORTON belt sander belts (also can be had at the home center) onto the tile. These suckers are unbelievably aggressive. Yes you will need to do it by eye and hand but that is fun right ? You can finesse it on an Edge Pro (you have one on order right ?) once you get the excess metal out of the way on these belts.

Zirconia Alumina
Oh Yah Baby !

thank you, that is exactly what I needed, I just finished reprofiling a paring knife at approx. 10 dps. It worked much faster than what I had been doing, and those belts are incredibly aggressive, you weren't joking.
