Consumer Input - Feedback/Suggestions/Improvements

I wish WE would not use the zero grind/edge that is featured on some knives. It makes for worse slicing and would be difficult to maintain the bevel.
The WE 718 is one of the best looking knives but it has that grind.
I applaud WE for using thinner stock on some knives. I'd like to see more of that.
From what I've seen and experienced the Civivi line seems to deliver unmatched value. Nice job.
Agreed. I have a 613 that I want to sell because I don't know what to do for sharpening. The zero grind looks nice, but impractical. Knives are suppose to be used. I really wanted a Drakon but will have to skip it because of the zero grind at the tip.

I ue the 613 myself. If you look at the grind carefully (maybe with magnifier) you can see a microbevel. It is very easy to maintain the edge with regular stropping without the need for grinding/sharpening.

Right now we are setting up a sharpening service for users who are affraid sharpening their WE knives themselves. Within a couple of months I expect to make it official.

So, it appears that WE no longer serialize? Both of the Models I received today do not have S/N's. They did Mark the blade steel very discreetly. But the blades are pretty much sterile. I like a cleaner blade, but think dropping the serials may hurt sales to the mid-range collectors.

Providing the serial numbers on certain models is only for the very limited production runs of particular deigns. So most of our knives are not serialized. This policy has not been changed.

I would like to see several full flat grind Russian style drop point liner lock flippers and fixed blades. 3.5" to 4.5". No holes, gimping, swedges, painting or polishing. 3D G10 handles. Utilitarian excellence with WE QC. Laconico Keen level detailing.

As said earlier in the thread, more lefty/left hand friendly knives. My Practic is my only WE so far, and it ticks all the right buttons, but I am eagerly looking forward to the next purchase. I am limited to a 3.5" blade for carry in my state, (which is strange since we have "constitutional carry" for firearms), would love a 3.5" sheepsfoot blade, something like the Chris Reeve Insigno or Kizer Degnan Guru.
All I can say is y'all pack some serious value into your products, and I'm looking forward to purchasing more!

An old thread has risen from the grave!

Relevant to 2020, forget D2. Give us more Civivi knives in a decent stainless, such as 14C28N, VG-10, or N690.

I can't fit to the format OP request but I would like to put what I hope is seen for the intent as constructive criticism. I was initially wowed by WE at first but the wow faded before I could afford a single knife. I mostly see a single design is made in 6-12 variations with there being little more than color and blade finish being the changes. I personally am bored with all the pure titanium handles with the occasional CF and it being that typical checkered pattern CF. If they would do more with inlayed handles and work with more variety of inlay this could spark some interest. I will also say as much as I love M390 it doesn't make it the right steel for every knife and while due to importing options may be limited I would hope to see them work with more steels. On the subject of steels I currently have a more personal avoidance of D2 from Chinese companies as seen with a recent thread much of the steel labeled D2 coming out of China is not the D2 many of us know from knives made in the US and Europe. I would like to see something from any Chinese maker certifying that the D2 they use is the D2 we are used to.

This is an important thing.

Steel used and steel claimed to be used is a MAJOR point of soreness in America. Especially when it revolves around knives made in china.

WE has created a brand people trust and makes high quality products. It would be VERY bad for them should they get caught playing games with steels.

If steel X is used.....for $300, I expect that steel to be exactly correct AND be HT perfectly.
