Awhile back I posted about a vibration in my grinder. I checked everything and it seem like it was the contact wheel. Looking at the wheel all look good, I sent it off and they found that it was out of balance a little. After talking with them I went ahead and had it recovered, found out that the rubber can start to come loose on the inside, but look good on the out side. I got my wheel back and tried it, everything was like new and it only cost about half of what a new one would have. I dealt with a Bruce Denny who was quick to answer emails and called after they check my wheel to let me know what they found. Here is the link to them, they make and recover contact wheels. http://www.contactrubber.com/default.asp

I also had a wheel separate on the inside as the say about 14 years back. It was on my Coote Grinder.

Norman Coote said I was running it too fast. He replaced it.

I have always heard good things about Contact Rubber. Several knife grinder MFG's get their new wheels done there.
