has any one used the grizzly 10" contact wheel and will it work on the no weld grinder . for the price of 65.00 i thought it might help with the cost of building a grinder. I picked up and 2Hp 1725 rpm motor today.

I made two grinders recently with grizzly 1015 10" wheels, and they work fine. They are two wheel like Coote, but you can just can make bearings beds on a lathe, or mount 2 pillow blocks and a shaft on the tooling arm of NWG and use the wheel as it is. Both will work. I am very pleased from the wheel. My first real grinder.

high speed bearings on ebay were $10.00
Grizzly 10" wheel for $65.00
Local machine shop charged $30.00 to mill a bearing pocket and press the bearings in.
Quite a bargain for a 10" wheel.

Dido please more info about these bearings. I had a part number for bearings from one of the forums for an inner shaft size of 1/2" or 5/8" for use on a grinder unfortunately I can't find it!!!

I think this will make a very good wheel for us broke guys...

i was looking at the grizzly web site. i noticed something odd. the 10 inch wheel is 65 dollars. and the 8 inch is over 100 dollars. seems odd doesnt it?

I just got off the phone with a local machine shop. they will do all the machine work and supply the bearing for 50.00 dollars. How can you bet a 10" wheel for 120.00 with shipping...

$120 is alot cheaper than 300 something!

this is the way i'm gonna go when i build mine!

good luck
