Contego?

What didn't you like about the 710?

I had a &*#%@ of a time sharpening the recurve on my Sharpmaker, and the handle profile just didn't fit my hands. Most of my knives now have more rounded, contoured handles instead of flat slabs of G10.

I freehand sharpen and I have not had too bad a time with it. It is a little more difficult than D2 but M4 beats the pants off of D2 in edge retention

Couldn't resist! Just got her a couple days ago:

Here it is next to my Case Peanut for a fun size comparison:

Loving this knife so far! All of my concerns have been washed away, this knife is amazing! Though I will say, I have noticed I've been avoiding whipping it out in front of non-knife people to cut stuff for fear of scaring them. But that's what my SAK is for anyways (as well as opening bottles and cans, turning screws, etc...).

Every time I read about this knife, I like it better. The Rift is very comfortable in my hand and the blade is a great design, so I'm half-way to the Contego. :)

Diddo, Sir. It also impresses me that BM is listening to their "focus group" of customers on the forums, both here and at their company forum. I've got a lot of renewed vigor and love for BM's products and CS of late.
