The rundown:

Container: Maxpedition 3x5 notebook cover. The logo and velcro patch have been de-stitched to reduce bulk.

Contents:
10' Blaze Orange 550
Orange Bic Lighter
4" Armageddon Firesteel
Ziploc Bag w/
4 Cotton-balls
Fire Stick
Fox 40 Whistle
LED Key-chain Light
Mylar Emergency Blanket 52" x 58" (cut down to carry-able size)
RAT Survival Card wrapped in fishing lilne
Fishing Kit
4 Hooks
6 Removable Split-Pea Sinkers
4 Swivels
2 Rolls of Duct-Tape aprox 2' each

There is no knife because I always pocket a Spyderco Delica 4 and am necking a HEST (a bit of a gamble with that poker on there.)

The kit provides me with the tools I need to easily build a fire, make sma ll shelter, and to obtain food (there's a lot of streams/river where I am and hike.) I also have the ability to signal with Fire, the Mylar, the LED (at night) and the blaze orange paracord can be used to... blaze.

This kit is ALWAYS in my back pocket ready to go. Even if I get separated from my (more extensive) EDC, I feel a lot better with this with me.

God bless,
Adam

This kit is designed to go with whatever knife I happen to be carrying, from the Izzy up to my Dog Father.

Some of you have seen version 1 of this kit evolve since Christmas but here is the latest rendition. I have always liked to have a "core kit" that I can take and throw from this pack to this pack or take on day hikes, etc, and always know that I have a specific set of items that work, aren't expired/broken, etc. It needed to be compact and relatively lightweight.

As you can see from the pics this is a kit I keep with me. This weekend it was in my backpack while deer hunting so I snapped some pics. It is sitting right here on the table next to my keys and will go in my get home bag in the car when I leave for work in the morning.

So here we go.

Maxpedition EDC Organizer, Izula with scales, EMK Heatsheet Bivy (for shelter and signaling) tied to the side.

25 feet of quality paracord weaved on to the back. It's a handy place to store the cord where it is easy to get to when I need it. I can slide my belt through the paracord to carry it on my belt or if I slide the knot through the webbing I can pull a length out and use it as a shoulder sling.

Everything stored in its place.

So there is my kit. Keep them with you folks they do us no good at home! :D

Thank you for the opportunity !!! You have encouraged me to make a kit I've been procrastinating for a long time. Here we have my first PSK ever, that's right I've never made one. I started out with a altoids tin but don't think it was going to make the cut, so I became innovative and grabbed my Swiss Army (literally) FAK, I believe this is used as a soap carrier but I'm not sure.

Its essentially the same size as a altoids tin by itself, what sets this apart is both pieces come apart.

Big Box Stuff

Small Box Stuff

I always over kill, but here's my attempt. Keepn' things dry is 1st on my list, so dry boxes are used. Dry boxes can also be used for water collection.

RC-3 is on the belt most all the time. Izula is my content companion.
Big box can be taken with, a shoulder strap can be made from your cord. This would be good if someone is with you as there are many extra supply.

I think I won't list all, but I live in Northwest Oregon and in the rain forest it can be hard to start fires so I have many ways to get this done. As a older guy now got to have fire fast!

The small box SHTF box has Visine, neosporn, water pure tabs, a small sharping stone meds and most of have to haves in it.

I'm just letting the contest roll, good stuff still coming in. I don't want to stifle the creativity. Keep it coming.

I scrambled to get my kit together just before the contest ended, had I known it would have been extended I would've thought threw some stuff a little more as I do have things I could have added/subtracted.

I kinda like deadlines myself as it help keep things in perspective, as with the mega contest we all know when the deadline is and when you need to submit entries etc, you snooze you lose.

there have been some great kits posted.
enjoy when folks post their various kits
usually learn something new
thanks!!

People, we work and have other things to do other than keep a keen eye on a specifics , 90% of the deadlines set are adhere to ,some are not such as life...
We give stuff away and people gripe no matter what !

Texastonydobbs,

Fair enough, my apologies. I did not mean to be ungrateful. I shall rescind the former post. Thanks for the time you do give for us here. Sorry for the thoughtlessness.

God bless,
Adam

hope you don't read my previous post as a gripe:o I was responding to other posts about contest ending time etc, .. I posted mine which I thought was the last day, no big deal..

Sorry boys, I don't concern myself much with deadlines. I could have easily killed the contest exactly 2 weeks from the start but I see no harm in a bit more time if good stuff is rolling in.

If I say two weeks, I promise it'll be AT LEAST two weeks, might be a bit longer.

I'm an informal kind of guy. Don't sweat the small stuff.
