3. Remember this is a classical musician, which would rule out Marilyn Manson (and I doubt the self-proclaimed anti-Christ would care much about politics)...

so....mr mgerraf,
atheists dont care about politics?
sounds to me like your painting with an extremely broad brush.

Ahh, shut up Mo. I didn't say atheists, I said self-proclaimed anti-Christ. Unless you think that all athiest are also self-proclaimed anti-Christs, your point is invalid.

Being exposed to the Pop culture, I would guess Frasier Crane?
I won't even bother editing for stupidity, I'd have to remove the entire post:)

thats beside the point.
saying that an anti christ doesnt care about politics is just...well....its just not right.
like i said, painting with a broad brush.

(BTW,dont take my post personally, because its not)

Again, I didn't say that all anti-Christs or the anti-Christ didn't care about politics, I said that "the self-proclaimed anti-Christ" didn't care about politics (which was a direct reference to Marilyn Manson.

So, my point was that Marilyn Manson is much to busy telling kids to kill themselves and everyone else - I'm sure he wouldn't waste his valuable time playing music for a congressional subcommittee.

In any case, if you want to discuss this further, I'd be happy to, in a different forum (perhaps W&C).

The music is related or the musician is related?

Could be Bach, Beethoven or maybe Brahms. Probably not Britten, Bartok, Bartoli, or any of the lesser known b's.

If the music is related, then it's probably Bach, as his music is the most consistant stylistically.

So whomever this musician is must play music that is very Baroque in nature.

Hmm...

Alright I'll give it a shot. How about Kennedy (formerly NIGEL Kennedy but he dropped the first name) and Beethoven's Violin Concerto in D?

No, and not getting closer. Try this LAST hint. BACH is a hint.

How about Sebastion Bach, the lead singer of the metal band Skid Row? :D :p

How about Stephen King? Didn't he originally write as Richard Bachmann? And then he launches into the Tocatta and Fugue in D minor.
Guess not huh? Oh well I tried.

Larry Fast playing Toccata and Fugue in D Minor

if the "him" was removed from the question I might try Wendy Carlos.

Not Bachman, but Ugly Jim is honing in with his straw grasping. Remember what the questions are.

Peter Schickele playing A Little Nightmare Music

(The closest piece I see from "P.D.Q. Bach" that has any reference to horror in it....????)

P.S. I came back to add a piece of trivia. Allegedly, Peter Schickele's real first name is Johann and Peter is his middle name. He also had a weekly radio show (on PRI - Public Radio International)with lots of different music and usually ended playing slow movement from Mozart's 24th symphony.

Jeez, frac :)...I was just guessing about the Schickele thing...I certainly don't have a clue as to what the specific work was . You said it was lengthy, so I'll tweak my guess to Peter Schickele playing excerpts from Hornsmoke: A Horse Opera. I really don't have a clue...

Continuing the straw grasping and shooting for works with possible knife content, how about Peter Schikele playing either Oedipus Tex or the The Civilian Barber?

Getting close. The horror is referenced in the introduction.... what piece is it?
