What a thrill for you to have met Dr.Sagan. His books, most notably Cosmos,Contact,The Demon Haunted world, Billions and Billions etc, still resonate with me. I miss Sagan's writing still.

Thanks again for the contest and congrats on getting the trivia question Mike.

Stay safe and all the best, Phil <------<

Got your question from this webpage; http://www.carr.lib.md.us/ccps/sykesville/students/sam/fact.htm

I trust these facts are currently accurate.

All of those facts are still fairly accurate based on current knowledge. However the closest aproach by a comet or asteroid would be a hit!

The most recent hit being the Tunguska event in which a comet or an asteroid blew up over Siberia in 1906.

And the most notable asteroid which killed all the dinosaurs is now called the Chixlube event in which an asteroid hit near the Yucatan Penninsula 65 Million years ago.

Yup! Astronomy is for me!

One of my most favorite knives was one my friend Allen Elishewitz made for me out of a South Pole Meterorite. It was really sweet!

Talk about putting my two most favorite subjects togather!

I am also a Master SCUBA diver, a 3rd Degree black belt and a Pilot so look out for some new questions!
