I've been inspired by the many offerings of knives, contests, pass arounds, and the general kind heartedness of certain individuals on this forum,(you all hopefully know who you are).

So here's the deal, when Walmart was closing out it's old knife display a few months back I picked up a Case 2 blade Trapper, with Yellow Delrin scales, this is a NIB knife All I did was touch up the edge.

This knife contest is for those who don't own a slipjoint folder, if you don't own one or have never owned one pick a number between 1-9999 the one who comes closest to the # I've picked will get the knife, one last thing, just a brief explanation why you don't have one, or why you want one,(this should make for some interesting reading) My Wedding Anniversery is Monday, July 22, so I'll pick a winner on that day.

#5622

I bought a Yellow Case Trapper, identical to the one that you have, for my father-in-law for his birthday because he loves those traditional pocket knives. I don't think much of slipjoints, in general, and much less had an interest in buying one for myself, but this Case Trapper really caught my eye. I don't own any slipjoints mainly because I prefer tactical style knives, but for this Case I could see myself making an exception.

I was thinking of buying a Yellow Trapper to use mainly for cutting food when I'm out and about, but I just haven't gotten around to it. I've been too busy buying more Spydies for my collection, that I haven't spared money  for anything else. Like I said, I don't really care too much for slipjoints, but this Case is one that I wouldn't mind owning. ;)

Well I carry mostly onehanded wonderknives. Though sometimes such a knife is overkill. I will not ever stop carrying tac folders, but I would like to branch out and expand my interests.

My number is 1981

I bought my first Case a few months ago. Lowe's had a large Texas Toothpick with white bone handles for $33 that I snatched in a heartbeat. It's easy to forget the beauty and simplicity of such a slipjoint when everyone talks of BT coatings and Ti liners. Whover wins this will not be disappointed.

T. Erdelyi, quite a generous thing:)

my # is 25 I dont own one because Im a newbie sorta and I never heard of a slipjoint

My Number: 7839

I don't own one because when I started my knife collection, knives with locks were in fashion. I have recently become interested in smaller knives, slipjoints included.

well, my number is 5412

But I hope some newbie who has yet to start his/her collection wins.

Nice thought, Thanks.......

I have never owned a slipjoint because I fell in loves with knives, came to BFC and became a pure tactical knife lover. I don't even know what a slip joint is [a joint that falls out of one's hand? a joint that dislocates often? a joint that slips but never falls cause if it does fall it cannot get up? Who knows.

In any event I edited this to say that if my number is picked [yeah right] give this knife to someone just starting out in the world of knife collecting. I have one joint that cause me far too much trouble when it slips, don't really need another:D :D :p :p

I've always wanted a slip joint because I've never owned one________

Well, I have owned one - my very first knife my Dad gave me was a Schrade Old Timer - so I guess that eliminates me from the running. :(

Thanks for your generousity T.

I don't own any slip-joint pocket knives, 'cause being a "Lefty" MOST of them have the nail-nick on the "wrong side" of the blades for me. However, that Case knife is so nice-looking, that I'm taking a shot at it anyway. (Besides, I NEVER win ANYTHING, so it's not much of a "risk" for me anyway...:D.).

My number is "99".

My dad has some slipjoints, and I used to play with them in the yard when I was little. Know he has them put away and wont let anyone touch them anymore!

My number will be 1995.

I've been a spyderco fan for a long time, then a fixed blade fan, so I never played with a lockless folder. But this will be a good apple peeler for me.

Cool contest! My number is 2002

I have been wanting a folder liek that for about 6 months now. For the longest time I din't care AT ALL for folders liek that/ Not one bit. And then the doc pattern slipjoints one day just up and smacked me on the face! Then I saw a pic of a Camillus Stockman, and now I want one of those. I almost got one for a great price at a mall store when I was shopping in Calgary, 2 hours from me. Alas, I only had half the funds and I was a bit disheartened. Much of the reason that I want a Camillus one is because Will Fennell kicks butt, and I get the farm fuzzies when I think of Camillus. So, if I won this knife, I'd get the warm fussies again, because knives remind me of people.

first knife was a slipjoint my Dad gave me at age 8. my brothers destroyed. never had one since.

Thanks for the contest.

My dad has several Case knives and loves them. I would love to give him another for his birthday in August.:)

Excellent thing you're doing here.

I've never had the pleasure of owning a slipjoint. Not even a swiss army knife and a slipjoint would make a nice office knife when even my Sebenza is a little offensive.

My number is: 5000
I've never owned a slipjoint because I only just learned what they were this week!
