Rus,
You are "Not" helping my situation! I've already inquired about "One" more from Uncle.
But,this is for a friend!Yeah ,RIGHT!
JIM

Sorry, but my thing is social work, substance abuse counseling, recidivism, et al. As Jack Webb would say, "Just the facts ma'am."

Or maybe that should be "give him enough rope and he'll hang himself with it!"

Have you thought of buying a Thompson? Preban 30 rounder clips are cheap and though they don't work in the semis, it just needs one hole drilled in the back of the mag in the right spot. If you are obsessing on a gun, you don't have ( much ) time to drool on knife type stuff.

Just trying to be helpful.

Rus,
o.k. Rus,here's one for you ,if it's a gun
H&K P7K3,she's a .380 flat & shoots holes in holes.Icarry it shoot it & love it.YES, just so you know , Ive talked to Bill about another Kukri,ARE ALL YOU GUYS SATISFIED NOW!But "If i decide to get it ,that "will be all", honest!!No more, just a small one!
jim

The only one I found listed on the net the last week, they were asking 1200 for used. Am wheeling and dealing trying to get a pair of 380's. One nib, for sunday go to meeting, one a bit rougher, for rest of the week.

Hope you are taking all of this as teasing. If I'm ( we ) are stepping on a sore toe I'll stop it. Well, actually I'll shut up, but I may whisper in your buddy's ear... nah

Rus,
No problem! If i can dish it out,i can take it.I really enjoy the give & take from the guys on this forum. i also learn a lot about K's.My usual carry is a hawkbill, bali., & .380. guns or knives,i can hold my own,Rus.
jim

I kinda figured that Jim, but it's been repeatedly learned the hard way that *I* am ( let's keep what's important in perspective here ) much better off regularly stopping and asking if something's bugging folks instead of letting me get blindsided cause I wasn't paying attention.

That isn't here on the forum but back in the old days I was doing Child Abuse/Child Welfare for the state. On the other hand, I did have a 3 year stretch where my recommendations were implemented exactly every single time by the court, who couldn't care less what my opinions were. But what's right is right and you should have seen some of the attorneys learn stuff they never knew about their clients by reading my reports in the courtroom before the hearing that they'd had and not looked at for three weeks.

PS: One 1955 Browning from a Texas shop for sure, the other to come as soon as owner finds an FFL to ship to me. Both deals made yesterday. 2 guns in one day. I'm using HIKV to taper down from membership in the gun of the month club.

Rus,
Browning is a good .380,looks the same as the Beretta, did it come with the Hi Cap. mag.?
If you ever get a chance shoot the HKP7K3.You
will not believe, then you will have to have it!Watch you will start carrying them more than the cannons.By the way thanks to Vince,i'm looking at getting a 12" Kuk.
jim

Jim, the 1955 model 380 is the one you see in those cased sets of 25, 380, & 9mm High Power. It is a small, hammerless 380 single stack gun made in Belgium by FN close in size to the Colt Mustang, or the Walther PPK. The Gun Control Act of 1968 stopped it's importation, as it did the PPK ( while permitting import of the slightly larger PP ). It isn't like the BDA 380, or Beretta 84, with their double stack mags.

In 1968 I was 18 years old. The New in box gun has been laying in its box waiting all this time never used or fired. I'm 50 this month so that's 32 years or longer it's been in this country tucked away. That will be my spare, and the used one, again imported before 1968, my carry, I hope. That one is reportedly 80% finish and internally perfect.

( Now I'm going to go look in the mirror and repeat "This is a KNIFE forum" forty or fifty times - no big deal, folks into knives tend to be into guns, too.

But as a moderator *I* really ought to be nudging things back into the mainstream, by asking questions like "What khukuri would James Bond carry to balance out his 7.65 PPK?" Personally I thing it should be a CBKC. )
