So I just discovered the Habilis "Bush Tool" and noticed it has a continuously curved blade. This is something I love in a knife and was wondering if anyone knows about any other fixed blades with continuously curved blades.

Here's the bush tool

I reprofiled and reground an Ontario Field knife (10" blade, 1095) so that it has a slight belly the length of the blade. It is now one of my favorite kitchen knives. I showed it to a friend who is in a culinary academy and that was the first thing he noticed.

You mean like the JAB Potbelly? I think thats the only one that I can think of off hand that has that blade shape, other than some machetes (bolos?).

I may be wrong but I think Brian Andrew's bushcrafter has this feature.

Is that a secondary bevel on your habilus? I thought they were scandi ground to a zero edge.

Barong or Parang have blade sweeps like that. They come in various lengths.
Also Smatchet.
That Bush Tool seems to basically be a short parang.

Wait, you mean the one I posted (KaBar Manufactured JAB Potbelly), or an actual Becker knife?

The only one that I can think of that might be similar to a curved blade like that would be the BK5.

Technically an ULU but that doesnt really fit into the whole "survival" knife scene too well

I've got a Lamb Splitter but it's not meant for anything but well you know...... splitting lambs. :D

I love it when "Smatchet" is a serious response.

Any Kris would qualify. The Sikh Kirpan and many Persian styled blades are curved along their whole edge. Most Khukuris are curved along the entire edge.

Likewise, Cold Steel's Spartan and Voyager Vaquero.

Fox knives parong karambit has a continuously curving edge. 3 3/4 inch blade. Nice blade for slicing stuff. Jimping is ridiculously good on the ramp.
