Blimey - which to buy (I can only have one! ) : Emerson CQC-7B or Spyderco Paramilitary. For general outdoor use. I cannot easily decide but until now I've been solidly on the side of the Spydie.
Normally I'd recommend someone use a mid-sized fixed blade for general outdoor use. Between those two, however, I'd advise you purchase the Spyderco Paramilitary if your general use mostly involves cutting. If your general use involves prying, I'd advise you purchase the Emerson.
Much more suitable than either would be the Emerson CQC-10. Check it out on their website. Verrrry slick design, all the great features/dependability/strength of any Emerson knife, more useful blade profile (at least as far as outdoor chores are concerned).
Off Topic. I noticed this thread and the first thing that hit me was the poster's user name and the title of this topic. Samphire-Conundrum. Sapphire-Corundum.
Never mind, my brain works this way when I'm tired.
