Please remember to put Conus ONLY in your thread if you are giving preference to CONUS. Recently someone did not, another buyer said they will take it, and then preference was given to Conus for the second I'll take. THAT REALLY SUCKS!

I had this happen as the seller. I initially tolder the potential buyer no, but I had not posted the exclusion. He had good references and we came to an agreement.

I agree that it should be be stated up front.

I would also like to mention, as we are on the topic, that I have had positive experiences with deals in Australia and Israel.

thanks mate..appreciate you saying that. If it is conus only upfront then no biggy...

Hey, guys.
In my opinion, it would really help everyone out if you listed your location in the location part of your profile.
You don't even have to type in your city, but country of origin would be nice.
Thanks.

Excellent point.
Listing country/location should be a requirement.

Nothing wrong with making a suggestion, but Bladeforums does not require members to make public any information they don't choose to make public.

+1 on mentioning country. Two different times I've wasted lots of time negotiating price and/or partial trades on knives that I listed as CONUS and "verified" paypal payment only to find that the potential buyer was Euro, wanted to pay by CC paypal, and expected me to phony up the paperwork to save import duties.

Out of curiousity..does it affect the person receiving money on paypal if a CC is used? I have an account plus CC so alternate the payments. If an account is used is it harder for the payer to get the payment cancelled?

as a buyer I prefer those words:
"I'll take it if you'll ship it to Canada"
Irezumi - once payment made with PP, you can't just "cancel" it.
You have to file a claim with PP. If you use your CC for payment - you can file 2 claims, one with PP, one with CC

+1 on posting where you are from in your profile. I don't have anything against shipping outside the US, but sometimes I reach an agreement on price, shipping, etc only to find hours after that I'm looking at shipping internationally. Then I have to go through more emails to re-negotiate shipping costs, or re-post that the knife is now available again, etc. Takes the wind out of my sails!
