Convention confermation tread

Chokpa's coming?! Er, well, maybe I CAN make it;) :D

Just teazin I know she's spoken for:rolleyes: :D

It's going to be the Peppermill. Not sure which room they have for us but I just hung up the phone and we're reserved, confirmed.

Peppermill costs more than Atlantis but here's a couple of reasons why I opted for them at the higher price. ($175 per day vs $100 or $125 at Atlantis). Better, bigger meeting room and SERVICE. The Atlantis never bothered to call and follow up. Joe Soto, Head of Special Event Sales at the Peppermill called three times: Anything I can do to help? Need anything? We want your business. What do we need to do to get it? This effort for a $350 sale. And it worked.

Hey, Uncle Bill, can you recommend any cheap hotels in the general vicinity of the Peppermill? You'd also mentioned something earlier about a motel run by a friend of yours in Sparks (I think) but I couldn't find the thread. Could you post that info again?

I posted this in the Reno Convention thread. Thought I would post it here:
Hey Everybody,
I signed up to the Peppermill mailing list to see if I could get a discount. Well, they are giving one out for Mar 20 thru Mar 24 for the Tower Rooms. I got a tower room for $59 a night instead of $99.99 on friday and $109.99 on saturday. I asked the guy if the code was good for other people who were not on the mailing list, and he said yes. The offer code is: 33MadnessE. The guy I talked to is David, he said to ask for him and say that Logan from Volcano sent you. Phone # is 1-800-282-2444,http://www.peppermillreno.com/ . I asked if the discount was good on the rooms with the jacuzzis, he said no just the tower rooms, I had to try. Hope this might help somebody out.

You probably don't need to ask for David, anybody should give the discount. The offer code is only good for tower rooms, and you should probably mention you have it right off. The guy gave me all the room options. Then I said I got this offer code and "oh well thats cheaper" and set me up with that.

Hey Logan1, is the $59, $59 a night, or per person per night?

$59 a night for the room. They have 2 room options, one with a king size bed and one with 2 queen size beds. The guy told me the rooms are about 400 square feet.

It's about as good a deal as you'll find unless you want some run down motel full of hookers and druggies for $25 per night -- if you live thru the night, that is.

no snow
Hey Uncle is seafood night at the Atlantis Fri or Sat? also what does the Pepppermill buffet got going on the day of the Con?

Breakfast at the Nugget in Sparks on Sunday here we come

About 3 more weeks to go.:)

Are there any other people that are planning to attend?

Reminder -- Atlantis, Tradewinds II meeting room. Peppermill screwed up.

Friday night is seafood night but both Atlantis and Peppermill buffets generally have snow crab legs and boiled shrimp every night.
