Conversation - What constitutes a custom knife these days?

I have a custom Eddie White. I designed and drew on graph paper from scratch and mailed it to him. I selected materials, steel type, thickness, etc.
This later became a standard model.
Those sold afterward were standard models where people could still select handle materials and blade steel. Not sure what you would call them, handmade maybe? Semi custom? Don't know, but I know the prototype was indeed what I would consider a true custom-made knife.
