Hi all,

I know some here like the Nessmuk style of knives and I saw this conversion posted on another forum. I asked and the author allowed me to put the article on a web page for those interested: http://gbrannon.bizhat.com/skinner.htm

Khukuri content.
Here are some links to some sites and photos about khuks I found interesting and saved (apologies if these have been posted before or are old hat):

I just came home from taking Ms. Hollowdweller to the doctor and eating a really good Indian meal and found a box inside my mailbox with my Dale Chudzinski full tang Nessmuk knife. It has mosaic pins, curly maple scales and a beautiful convex edge second only to Dan's.

I am doing the exact same thing with the exact same knife, and I even have one of those D/C Nessmuk knives for compairison!!!

I am going to leave a LITTLE more of the blade though...
Some examanation of the old drawings have lead some of us on the Bark River forums to think that most are a little small compaired to the original Nessmuk...

Great Links!!!! :D

The Old Hickory Brand of knives is just damned hard to beat as is or modified to suit yourself.
They were the cheap knives of choice when I was a kid. In the days of the old trade knives they would have been the top of the line compared to some others of the day.
The two Red River and the two Hudson Bay knives that Cold Steel brought out several years ago were also damned good knives and well worth the money, especially being made of Carbon V and CS's heat treatment. :D
I have a "Scalper" with a beaded handle and a couple of the butcher knives sans handles, one of them has been partially made into a karda already.;) :D
Hopefully here's a pic of the Cold Steel repro trade knives.
