Convex edge vs V

The problem is that "convex" gets thrown around so much and is such a blanket term that people start to ignore, and sometimes even deny, the basic principles that actually determine whether or not something cuts well.

The principles that determine whether or not something cuts well, apply equally to any edge type.

Thick is tougher, thin cuts better.

It does not matter what you call your edge, as long as you know what angle and thickness are appropriate for the job.

Nope. The zero chisel will be sharper with equal thickness and edge angles. Then comes convex. Then comes vee.

A chisel grind with no edge bevel...
AKA, the crooked V grind.:p
