Convex Sharping in the field

I just got a BRKT NorthStar and also have a few strops that i really dont like carrying in the backcountry (too heavy) and was wondering if anyone could give me hints to a good field sharping method. Thanks
 
Sandpaper can be carried and used in the traditional way most people sharpen convex blades. You can also sharpen them on flat benchstones (which means a rock) by just arcing the blade over the hone.
