Convex zero grind and sandpaper

On my convex knives I finish them by slack grinding with an A30 trizact, then switch to a felt belt with white compound on it, then finish by stropping on a leather strop with green compound. That seems to work pretty well. Here's me trying to demonstrate sharpness of the first blade I did that way.

My progression on my 2 x 72' is a 120G Superflex J weight, a 600 Superflex J a 3m S/C 15 micron Mylar belt, Then a light touch on a muslin buff loaded with Green Chrome compound.

What works for me may not work for you.
Keep at it until you find a progression of belts with the right touch that works for you.:)

Thanks for the tip Laurence. I just got a few of those mylar belts in to try.

I did something similar yesterday. It was on a small convex blade though. I went coarse stone then fine. Then steel. Then polished it with slack leather belt on a 1x42. With some white compound.

Was carving designs on my arm hair and doing loops through sheets of paper.

Thanks LTD! The straight razor guys put me to shame though.
