Convexing with a Mouse Pad

I love virtuovice's stuff. He also has some good stuff on Fallknivens as well and has one where he has X-rayed fixed blades to expose their tang construction. He's definitely a knowledgeable knife guy.
On convexing a flat, he explains at about 5:25 how the leather sinks under pressure to create the natural convex.
Now I don't feel so bad about taking days to re-convex an NL5. I've never gone higher than 400, maybe 320. :D

Doesn't Tony G use his abs instead of a mouse pad when out on a bike ride?

Well in winter I usually don't shave the hair off my abs, so I can't use them as a strop; but I do ride in the rain a lot. So I just take the knives I want to sharp with me and I strop on the tires as I descend the local climbs. Works great and the rain keeps the knife cool and enough grit on the tires to do the job:thumbup:

Also with 27 inch wheels you can do all your really B.I.G. blades
