She's beat up but she's a 124. Wanted some Gerber stuff for a while and a buddy of mine might trade me a prodigy and a strong arm. Thoughts?

I'd take the 124 even if beat up over either of those. The 124 is pleasing to my eye, those two Grebers are not. Send the 124 to Buck for a SPA if you don't like the 'beat up' look.
the only thing i've ever worried about my 124 is it's pegged for survival but it's a hollow grind BUT i've never had a problem yet

I don't subscribe to a lot of the pigeon holes that 'experts' put on knives. To me a survival knife is the one you have when you have to survive.

Another aspect of your choice might be to consider the customer service and warranty of the knife. I know Buck's is excellent.

Go to the bay. Select buy it now, and price lowest to highest. Then type each of those Gerber knives into the search bar, and Buck 124 knife.
When I did that I could have bought both of the two Gerber knives for $65 less that the lowest priced 124. Doesn't seem like a very good trade to me.

O.B.

I'd only consider pre-Fiskars Gerbers to be worthy of trading for a Buck 124, and then it would depend on what model Gerber.

Buck is more versatile.

I guess maybe trade it if you have another 124, you really like your friend, and you want him to have a 124 without feeling like he owes you anything (but we all know he would be in your debt).
