Convince me to buy a Police

I've admired the 4 inch blade on the Police but this is the first time I've seen a carbon-fibre handled Police:thumbup:

Would the Police model work with light-weight FRN handles? That would make it impossible for me to resist purchasing one.

On the other hand, if Spyderco doesn't offer some Spyder-shaped stair-tread tape for the SS Police or other SS models, it could be an "opportunity" for some enterprising fellow! (with Sal's permission, of course:D)
 
I really like my SS Police/SE.

There's just something with that long serrated blade...

However I don't carry it as often as I would like because of the sheeple factor.:grumpy:

I don't think it will be appreciated when I use that knife in public:eek: :eek:

So I just carry my Delica or something even smaller instead:(

I had a SS police and gave it to a close friend of mine.

I think the SE is sabre ground and the PE is hollow ground, is that correct?

I'm also taking a really hard look at the Police. I haven't seen a CF one up here, though:) After getting my E4 and then getting my BM710D2, I started to take a harder look at larger blades, despite the fact, I don't use larger blades that often. I was never fond of the SS because of the weight, but then when I got my Adventura, it got me thinking. I have a Para now and I like it, but it's too thick in the handle. That's what stopped me from buying the Millie. I like the E3/E4's for utility but not for EDC. I like my 710 because of it's elegance - it's a larger blade, but it really doesn't "look" large at first glance. Interestingly, it's doesn't feel as heavy as I thought. My Rescue 93mm is the only SE I have in a larger blade, but it's also not practical for EDC and was never bought with that intent. I would also get a Police in SE - that would give me sleek/elegant/mean in one blade - I don't have that combination in my collection:D I'd better wait a bit - I think I got an Adventura, Caly3, G-10 Meadowlark(Caly and Bryd at the same time - online - still not here....), and a Hess Horn literally in consecutive weeks. My 710 was only a couple of weeks before that. As good as my wife is about my knives, I could get easily get into one of those moments where there wouldn't be enough insulation in the doghouse I would have to build in backyard, to get me thru the winter:) Now, me being the eternal optimist about everything, -20 to -30 deg C in the backyard, might still be warmer than it would be in the house:D
