I want to pick one up because the size looks great but I worry about the handle size. How big is the handle?

It’s good. I prefer it to the 119. On the smaller side, but still large enough for a 4 finger grip with my large size hands. I imagine it would cause a bit of fatigue with really heavy use. For light to moderate tasks though it’s more than adequate.

I prefer the 105 to the 117......basically same size handles, but 105 has bit more blade and just visually looks better to me.

the 117 reminds me of the scaled down kabars. they work fine, just visually they look off to me.

The 117 handle is longer than the 102, so to me is a little more comfortable. I like the blade size of the 102, but too short of a handle, if it was the same length of handle as the 117, it would be great. My 117 is a good size and not too big like the 119.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the Buck 118, formally know as the Personal. Mine is old and has the 440C steel with the convex grind. I've owned it for several years now, and it does all that I need a knife to do with hunting and fishing chores. It was Hoyt Buck's personal favorite too!

I just measured the handle on my 118. It measures 3 13/16 inches from the back of the guard to the end of the pommel. I hope that helps you. I have a large hand and it works very well for me

Thanks, I think that should work. My hands are somewhere between a medium and large. I appreciate you measuring it
