Convince Me

It works well as part of the Coyote dispatch team. It works even better when your buddy sits his butt still and doesn't get all fidgety every 5 minutes.

Indeed, I do want one but my inherently cheap nature keeps me from taking the plunge since I already have a 2, 9, 11, 13 and 16. I guess it's time to make a spot for a 10. Thanks for all the pics and informative input. Believe it or not, it actually helped to nudge me off dead center and I now have a 10 inbound.

IMHO, you don't need it if you need someone else to convince you.

and.......BOOM!

Thanks Al for laying it out there.

No digs on you Mojo, but the entire BK line sells themselves. You asking us to convince you to get something is like a crack dealer convining you to give the base a go because its better than the powder.

I don't like 1/4 inch think knives. I have an ESEE 5 and while a beast, it is just too thick. The BK10 really got it right. BK9 is next. Then the 10. I suspect I will divest of the ESEE-5 in order to fund same.

The BK10 just feels terrific in the hand. Fast, solid, light, tough. If I didn't have a BK12, my BK10 would be my favorite do-anything knife. Since a BK10 is half the price of a BK12, you really are saving money by buying a BK10. Don't look back, just forward to the BK12 now so you will realize how much money you saved by buying the 10. It makes sense when you don't think about it.

The BK12 looks awesome but it doesn't call to me. When I first got the dreaded Becker Bug it was a toss-up between the 2 and the 10. I went with the 2 and have been beyond happy with it. Somehow I got distracted and one by one other models caught my attention. While I thought I had all the bases covered the 10 continued to whisper in my ear and even though I tried to ignore it, it won out. I can't wait until it arrives. I suppose now my attention will turn towards a BK-5. I still hold-out hope that one day the mighty BK-1 will make a reappearance.

This thread has made me really look at the BK-10. Up until this point, I thought it was a 0.25" thick bar steel knife (versus 0.188"). Guess I will be getting another Becker as I always felt the BK-2 was just too beefy for me.

I would consider yourself lucky if the 12 doesn't seem appealing. I have a hard time justifying owning both a 10 and 12 because they are so comparable, and the 10 is much more worth the price imho. My only justification is that I am beyond the point of having justifications for owning so many knives.

They're coming back.

Wait...what?? Seriously?? Those look pretty sweet! Is it longer than the BK-4? I've been shopping around for a machete-type to use...sorry to hijack the thread, but that looks like a sharpened death stick of awesomeness!

It's not official but yeah, they're supposed to come back in 2015 and they'll be 1/4" thick. I forget the blade length but the becker blade database thread will have that.

Kewl, thanks for the info, can't wait!!!

They're a lot bigger than the BK4. 1/4" thick? Where did you hear that? Mine is like an 1/8" thick. I dunno about 1/4"... 3/16" would be perfect, IMO.

The new ones will be 1/4" thick. Toooj said it in the ask Toooj thread. He didn't come right out and say it was the RBK but with the hints he was giving us there's nothing else it could be. Previously made but out of production collaboration in the kukri style. However they're not making it the same as before, it was going to be 1/4" thick. I guess a lot of people are asking for 1/4" thick choppers. I'm generally not on board with the thickness craze but I know they wouldn't make it that thick if it wasn't also effective. I know my Ontario Kukri machete is 1/4" thick and is way lighter than I thought it would be.

I sold all but the Bk-2 with Bill Siegle Grips and the BK-10 with Custom Micarta Grips

I love both--but like the BK-10 more

It is a VERY underrated knife
