I have picked up a book called ' The compete wilderness training manual ' by Hugh McManners and it's a real good read, in fact I can't seem to put it down !!!

Anyone else notice that, as time goes on, pitdog is wearing less and less clothing in the pictures he posts?

I mean, it took us a few months to from nekkid but for a fur toga to nekkid but for a pair of shorts. This has implications for the next round of pitdog pictures.

I'm just saying ...

All the best,

- Mike

Damn glad I wasn't wearing my glasses!

Generally, Mr. pitdog, we are in agreement. Sadly, this time, we are not.

I have the Complete Wilderness Survival Manual by Hugh McManners and I'm not overly impressed, In fact, judging by the section on friction fire, he's never made any, only read the books.

Perhaps, though, I'm overly judgemental. :(

Hey Pit did your wife put you out in the snow for being a bad boy or something lol. Lets keep the pics or Misy and knives if you dont mind...

Pitdog, I used to think you had a cool dog. After seeing this pic, and assuming Mrs. pit or pit Jr. took it, your whole family is cool.

If I asked my wife or one of my kids to snap a pic of me in my boxers in the snow they'd have me put away. In fact, my wife would ask her usual question when I get a hair brained idea like that. "Are you f----- serious?!?"

After I posted the above, I flipped through some pages (haven't looked at it in a bunch of years), and perhaps I should revisit the book - I like to be fair (and accurate), after all. The friction fire comments stand, though.

Pitdog,
Don't you have a toilet? An outhouse? A two holer? something?

There's gotta be a better reading room than the back deck in December.

Well, I'm not surprised at all. I live in Germany, but I'm surrounded by British Soldiers. British Airforce Base, Army Training grounds, you get the idea. This area is crawling with brits. And you can spot them from a mile away - at least in the winter. They are the ones running around in shorts and a T-shirt when everyone else is freezing his butt off wearing a coat!
Crazy brits - but I kind of like 'em anyway :)
