I'm assuming everyone here likes camping/bushcraft stuff. I was having a discussion elsewhere debating the Nalgene Straight-sided SS Bottle John Mccann suddenly out of the blue has in stock (Time Travel? Where'd he get them?) and the New SS Bottle/Cup combo Dave C is selling. I got to watching the video below and saw this cool trick for your SS bottles. And since some people already have the Beckerhead bottles, and the rest of us will soon enough, I thought I would share. It's simple, but anyone who has boiled water in their bottle will appreciate this trick....

(skip to 1:10 for the trick if you don't want to watch the whole review)

You mean the canteenshop grilltop stove? I have that. Pricey, but very solidly made. My finger is hovering over the "Buy it now" button on the straight-side Nalgene SS bottle. I thought those were gone forever.

I should ask....Are the Beckerhead bottles Stainless or Aluminum? You don't want to boil aluminum. I stick to the Nalgene or my Kleen Kanteen.

I saw this video the other day. Seems like a good idea.

Another tip: Klean Kanteen lids fit the BeckerHead bottles and thread in better than the original lid, smaller profile too.

Good to know. I have 3 for my big one. I like the biner lid the best. Can never find the flat, SS ones.

Hmm, I think I need to get my BH# like now. But until then that's a neat trick.

Thanks for sharing! Saw a video of a Klean-Kanteen with a factory looking bail wire, in the fire. Went online to snag one, and they don't exist. Maybe they did at one time, not for sure. I like this idea!

I have a straight-walled kleen kanteen with a loopmolded as part of the lid. Insulated the outside with some craft foam for kicks and it's stayed that way.

I get it. I really do. It's a clever piece of kit - but walville sells a single walled stainless bottle for $5, wire coat hanger is free... frankly, an empty green bean can and 6' of bailing wire does the same thing for $.40 and you get a free can of green beans.

Get 2 cans of green beans and you can make a custom twig stove to go with your new can container. Plus you have 2 cans of green beans.

If you want toxins from tin cans...that stuff will mess you up...what's more importante? Saving a little dough or saving your health so you can be around longer? No offense to you but that is why people have moved from tin to stainless steel. Not only that but aluminum makes your food and water taste foul.
