Cool camp trick for your Beckerhead bottles..

I love this trick, but I was trolling youtube because I can't sleep (self diagnosed insomnia, more like really really bad trouble slowing the gears in my head), and there was something called a Swedish torch/stove, and basically it's either a log split in quarters and burned from the inside out, or for out in the bush with a folding saw, several half wrist sized sticks tied in a circle with another stick, wrist or wrist and a half sized in the middle, and some easier burning stuff like tinder and small-ish kindling as a 'barrier' between the outside and the 'core' stick, looks really good, and still lets you use the bale (did I spell that wrong?) trick, but it also works for boiling water in a pot, without a bale.

Sorry for hijacking your thread, but I knew people wouldn't be as happy if I just made a new one.

I get it. I really do. It's a clever piece of kit - but walville sells a single walled stainless bottle for $5, wire coat hanger is free... frankly, an empty green bean can and 6' of bailing wire does the same thing for $.40 and you get a free can of green beans.

Get 2 cans of green beans and you can make a custom twig stove to go with your new can container. Plus you have 2 cans of green beans.

Ok. Have fun with your coat-hanger-and-green-beans trick. I'll use this. I don't really see your point. $2.50 is too much money?

Just like, I COULD use a Gerber knife from Walmart, but I choose to use a Becker. I mean, this isn't a discussion about improvising containers from trash.

Got my SS Nalgene today. Love it!! If I could pick one bottle, it would be this. It's the thickest, strongest SS bottle out there. Already bundled with the Fish Mouth Spreader Bail, a nesting cup, and the new Nalgene multi-drink cap. But instead of all that, here it is with a Becker....

Nice! When I saw the mouth spreader trick, I thought, "Why the heck did I never think of that? Way better than carrying tongs in my kit.
