When I got home from work today I noticed a crow and an odd fuzzy thing in my neighbors grass. I walked of to check it out and the crow was pecking at a broken egg, which had apparently fallen from the tree which was overhead. The fuzzy thing turned out to be a nest, I would guess that maybe the crow had something to do with the nest no longer being in the tree! lol Anyhow, I picked up the nest and inspected it for any more eggs, of which there were none, but realized how cool this nest was. It was a very suburban nest, very little natural nesting material was used to build it. It has a lot of what looks like pillow stuffing, paper towel strips, some really short carpet yarn, and all kinds of little bit so man made stuff. I just had to marvel at it. The inside was lined with very small feathers, and was quite small. I'd guess by the size of the "living quarters" of this nest and their abundance around here that it was from a sparrow.
