I once found a super rare, very expensive, West German Sig P226 with butt mag release. I found it on my property and after the standard background check, the trace on the gun and the required waiting period I was awarded the gun by the police dept. I regret selling it more than any other gun at this point in my life but at the time I was excited to sell it cause of how much it was worth and I didnt have any use for it, it had one in it thankfully but mags were literally impossible to get and at that point in my life I had no use for a collectors piece and lots of use for cash.

Another one... I used to work in a huge used book store.

People apparently store money in books, because we found over $500 hidden between pages (including two $100 bills, and 350,000 turkish lira in an old style that was worth about $10... Would have been about $175,000 if it had been new money.)

Wife once found $132 in the pages of a book she bought for a quarter from an elderly couple at a yard sale, we returned to the house when we found it a few weeks later but they refused to accept it, we put the money in an unaddressed envelope and dropped it in their door slot the next night.

ahhhh..... So I am not the only one who reads other's responses!!

We have friends w/pugs and know a lot about them. We've done a TON of research in the past about dogs and narrowed it down to Corgi or Lab. But, since we are still in a tiny condo, and gone for 9-11 hours a day (minimum) we thought that it would not be fair to a dog. So, we've stuck w/cats! There is something alien about them though!!!

Yea I'm not a cat person, until my wife brought home our now 3 year old Fat Cat and I love her...lol, Also I have a yellow lab, He is 14 years old and going strong, he is at my parents house as I can't have him where I live but he's the best dog I have ever had !

Found a real cheater bar on the side of the road once. Not just a metal bar but a actual purpose made bought from the store cheater bar. Not exciting but it comes in handy lol.

I found a wallet by the curb while riding my bike (Schwinn). It had over $100 in cash. No problem finding the owner. His driver's license and credit cards were all inside. Needless to say he was grateful to be reunited with his stuff.

Found a $20 spot, along a running trail in Tacoma WA, last week. On the return leg I kept alert for anybody who might be poking around looking for it, but it was still early AM so it turned into lunch later that day.

This.

Which five months later has turned into this. She must come from a long line of feral cats. I've had kittens before, but this one isn't quite right. You can see the bad intentions when she looks at you. The cat was trying to steal a bone from my bull mastiff the other night. Poor dog spent two hours pacing the house trying to find a place to hide it.

I worked in bars as a bouncer and bartender for years, you learn to keep an eye out on the floor. I've found all sorts or drugs and paraphernalia, hundreds of bic and a few zippo lighters, jewelry, quite a few full packs of cigarettes, wallets, credit cards, I.D.'s, keys, passports, knives, quite a bit of cash… if you're at a bar keep an eye out at the foot of the bar stools, drunks drop a lot of $. I've always tried to return anything I could to it's rightful owner.

Here's a short list from over the years. Mind you I live 10 miles out of town, so you never know what's going to turn up.
-Several dogs and cats my family ended up adopting. Not sure if I found them or they found me!
-a souvenir letter opener from WW2 era, made like a micro-katana, hamon and all. Nosing about my grampas house as a kid.
-a tin spoon circa 1890 on a archaeologic survey this summer. On a ranch belonging to Texas Parks and Wildlife.
- tons of "deer hearts", fossilized bivalves, up to a foot in diameter. Walking along my road, they are exposed after a good rain.
- a cut diamond from one of my mom's rings, fell in the driveway when I was little. Lost for about two years.

I found a ten spot in the beer section at Ingle's a while back. I put it up. Figured it was lucky. When I was about 7, I found a Case yeller delrin Trapper (bran new) in the bus parking lot at elementary school. I'm 100% positive the custodian dropped it. I gave it to my dad. He carried it til the blades were worn down to nothing. He passed when I was 19 & he carried it up til then.

I've found a couple of reactive targets that people have left at the range, I've also found a couple of 2 dollar bills in parking lots

I've "found" lots of cool things when I was a foreclosure contractor. If I got permission from the bank to clean it out, they really didn't care where it went as long as it wasn't in the house anymore. Lots of tools, a couple of good quality kitchen knives, decent watches, jewelry, a very nice pellet pistol. I also found lots of "interesting" stuff, usually of an adult nature, lol! Once found a "pneumatic male enhancement device" in a shotgun case! Had a good laugh about that one!

-Xander

My husband and in-laws used to do that kind of work too. Can't even begin to name all the "treasures" the hubby brought home! But nothing as "interesting" as you have found lol.

Found Kabar 1152 and WW2 entrenching tool on the side of the road by my house. both were rusted up, so I cleaned them up and still have them. I also found $250 on the sales floor at work. turned it into management who sat on it for 60 days, they then turned it into the local PD who then sat on it for 1 year. needless to say exactly 1 year after that I went down and claimed my prize . sometimes doing the right thing pays off.

I found my dog willow which is a Bluetick Coon hound and I also found a benelli shotgun on a ranch i bought I did the same as the guy above did with the Sig.
