This is an amazing classical-looking knife.
The only thing I could lose is the acorn nut at the bottom - needs something with a more custom feel.
Make one for under 200 and I'll buy it! :D I'm too broke to be looking at knives...

Whether you are joking or serious, taken literally, that's exactly the kind of comment that causes bad blood between a maker and a potential customer. After a while, it can turn a man sour. Its better to keep that type of comment to yourself.

These aren't used cars we're selling in here. This is art, created over many hours, by the maker's own hands. Think of the investment in time, materials, machinery and the years of perfecting one's craft to be able to make a piece such as this. Knives like this aren't mass produced, they're built by hand, one at a time.

I've seen this knife, and held it, and its an amazing piece of work. Its Lamont's interpretation of a Randall Model 14. That's the reason for the acorn nut. Though it would serve quite well for the purposes Shawn described.

By the way z537z, I see you are from CT. Stop by the show in East Windsor on Feb 3rd, and say hi. We'll both be there. I'm sure we'll have some knives in your price range.

Thanks,
Scott

That is a beauty. A complete package, and a great tribute to a great knife and maker.

Someone will snatch this up. I would if I had any discretionary income.

BTT for a great knife. Look forward to seeing some more of your work.

Charlie

I would think the nut is there for a purpose, I had a Randall with a leather handle. the leather dried out some and became loose, you can tighten the nut a little and all is well, if the cap were peened, you would have to send it to a professional to fix. It is a very good looking knife, the blade looks a little wider than a #1 and I think is an improvement.

Lots of praise for the knife, and well deserved, but that looks like an absolutely outstanding sheath, too. Looks as good as any of the top leather workers I've ever dealt with.

v. impressive knife & sheath. at $500, i'm sure the maker's hourly wage is very low. plus the time to take pics/post/answer emails/etc. so many fine knives appear here on BF, that as a buyer, i only stop when the bank account is empty. i think others are finding themselves in this position too, or this knife would be gone, gone, gone ! roland

Lamont, I'll take this one. Had to think about it, but what an awesome knife and a great interpretation of a Randall. Email inbound.

Lamont: Better yet please make me one! I hate to see this somewhere else! Let me know the cost and paypal info! You snoozzze you Looossseee John!
