Coon Skinner

Not really a typical skinner. I'd call it more of a bird and trout or maybe a caper. But a coon hunter from back east commissioned me to make him a knife for dressing and skinning coons. He said it had to be small, thin and pointy. This is what I came up with.

1080+ steel .120 at the ricasso
6 3/4" overall, 2 3/4" cutting edge, just over 3/4" of blade height
Desert Ironwood scales
Brass pins
Dropped and rounded spine
File fullered butt end and spine

as a good 'ole boy that has dressed his fair share of 'coons, (Possums as well), that lil blade should do just fine.
