I have this Coote belt grinder for sale. It is in very good condition. I bought it used and have hardly used it in the 8+ years I've owned it. It spins nice and smooth. The grinder is as-pictured, which includes the 2"x72" chassis, 4"idler wheel, 10" contact wheel, platen, work table and belt.

TERMS OF SALE:

SOLD and shipped

For shipping calculation, as-pictured is right at 30 lbs. With box and packaging, probably 33 - 35 lbs. to be safe. All of the parts will disassemble, and I will do my best to pack it as compact as possible. The longest piece is the upper half of the arm, which is about 18". The lower arm is around 16".

If you really want a motor as well, we can talk about it. I used a Leeson 1 HP single phase motor with this. I really don't want to sell it, because I have other plans for it. Plus, it is probably better for you to buy a used motor locally off of Craigslist or FB Marketplace, rather than paying for shipping this thing.

Yes it is.
EDIT: Dont get a Consew. Go to ServoMotorKit dotcom and buy one that allows both soft start and soft stop programing ability.

Thanks,
I have thought it over. If you were close and I could pick it up, I'd go for it with no second thoughts, as that is a great price for that Coote. But I really should be looking at a 2 x 72 full size grinder. So I'm going to pass at this time.

I have a couple of Coote 2 x 48 with a 6" contact wheel that I power with a CSM3000 1hp sewing machine motors, since the Coote is belt driven, and it is a great little sander with this motor. The CSM3000 has a 3L V-Belt pulley and all I had to do is swap out the 4L sized pulley on the Coote with a pulley made for 3L belts. I used a 3L 3/8" width Power Twist.

The CSM3000 sewing machine motor has variable speed controller. You just take the spring off the control lever, for on/off ability and variable speed control. And then set any top speed you want, and you have variable speed up to whatever the top speed you set. These little motors have very high torque at low speeds. It is a great combo, especially since the motor with the controller is only $140, or at least when I bought a couple.

Thanks for considering. Offer sweetened in the original post.

That is a good idea with the sewing machine motor. It makes me want to keep the Coote, but I already have a Wilton Square Wheel, and I have more tools than space.

One thing about my previous motor suggestion. If you recommended that to the buyer, call them and direct them to ServoMotorKit dotcom . I have since switched out the motor I used to one that allows soft-stop programming. The Consew does not allow programing of the stopping intensity, but there are other brands that do. And this guy sells them. But from his page you can also find out which type to seek out if you want to buy elsewhere.

If the motor stops abruptly it will spin the Coote contact wheel.

I found a 10" 2x72 Coote not too long ago on Craigslist for $100 and it included a red Leeson 1.5hp farm duty motor 1750 rpm . And it has the small wheel attachment and the hollow grind attachment for the contact wheel
