Coote Grinder on ebay

I saw that a day or two ago. I figured by the time the auction is over the price will be way higher than what it's worth. If it came with a motor maybe. The way it's set up, you can't even use the contact wheel for hollow grinding. Is that how they come from the store?

The table and 9" disk is removable, and the whole unit tilted back so that the contact wheel is accesible.

I have the same grinder. The disc sanding attachment can be removed, so you can hollow grind too.

Flatgrinder
What would be a fair price to pay without the motor?
What would a motor cost?

It's got 19 bids and it's around $260 the auction ends tuesday morning. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see it sell for what Norm sells them for.

He has the bracket for the knifemakers rest on it but I don't see all the parts. Mine is the same machine but with a 10" wheel and I think it cost me $485 before shipping. That was back in 2006

Goes to show why a coote is a good investment, even selling used, you can recoup most of your cost years later. Yet another reason for beginners to save the extra money and get a coote instead of a grizley (which i'v eseen on ebay for WAY less than they cost)
