I am thinking about buying the Coote Grinder. I currently work on a 1x42 delta. I have tried a friends Coote Grinder and it works well. However, I want to use small wheels for handle work, finger grooves, etc. Has anyone used the Coote small wheel setup? Pictures of your setups would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Glen

i know for a fact that Wil Hurley of Hurleyknives.com used to use one. Email him or call him up!

I have a Coote's. I considered getting that and still may, but it seems to me that it might be awkward. The knife rest on mine is roughly waist level. To use the small wheel you can tilt the grinder forward, but in my case the small wheel would be about chin level. I don't know how how comfortable this would/wouldn't be.

I have not really got mine set up right yet, but here is a photo if that is of any help,.
Cheers Ron.

Thanks for the replys. Looks like the small wheel setup would be usable for profiling handles and such. I think that I will end up with a Coote.

Thanks,

Glen
