Bucks dealer agreement states store front required. I have tried to find their address. I even contacted them and they told me they would meet me.
Dealers have to follow MAP pricing, C&C have better pricing than typical dealer, cheaper to buy thru C&C than anywhere else.
So is Copper and Clad a dealer or not?

Matt (err... I meant MIKE), I agree it is confusing. Copper and Clad is part of Shepherd Hills Cutlery, a huge operation with 4 store locations, 3 right here in Missouri and 1 in Kentucky. They claim to be the world largest Case dealer. If you look at C&C model codes they end with xxxxSH-B. It sucks they don't have a store front them selves. 4 hours down I-44 I would go in an instant. I don't know if C&C has inventory at the Shepherd Hills locations. I did call them once several years ago and they told me no store front to visit. I hate buying stag /bone items sight unseen, They've had a number ot items over the years I would have purchased if I could buy in person.

Coming full circle to your original question Matt (Mike), I expect Shepherd Hills is the "Dealer" doing their Buck business as Copper & Clad. I deduce that because the model codes are "SH".
So my vote is NO, I think C&C is not the actual dealer, just a "doing business as".

Perhaps someone from C&C will pop in and clarify.
I would add that I have been pleased with everything I've ever purchased from C&C.

At least C&C is a legitimate business.
Not some yahoo loading up product out the side door at employee pricing, then selling them on ebay.
Meanwhile folks at the company store are limited, and have nothing to chose from.

Buck doesn't enforce their own rules at the actual Buck factory.

So I guess it's an all out free for all, and do what ever you feel....?

The fine print is enforced only if they don't like you, or maybe they just make that up as they go too.

Sorry.
But I no longer trust their "rules".

I love their product, but that's about as far as I go anymore.

On the other hand, I took a look at the C&C web page, they state they are a dealer....

OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH BUCK KNIVES

As one of Buck’s largest dealers, Copper + Clad has become one of the top destinations online for unique and short run Buck Knives. In addition to carrying Buck’s entire catalog, we work closely with Buck’s production team to commission several of their most popular patterns in distinct configurations that otherwise could not be mass produced.

addendum... with this in mind I guess I would change my vote to YES but like bertl bertl says we are making judgements without true knowledge but I also agree with Makael Makael that it does seem a fuzzy issue that we really are not privy to.

It’s gray for sure. Another case of not following basic guidelines. That’s how bad rap gets started. Purchase limits set for general public over written by a couple employees:

I hope new hire looks at the loose ends and corrects the ship. Stick with more us made instead of slipping more China made and removing the word China off the blade.

i have a more important question😁......whos Matt?

I don't see the point of a consensus from people who are giving personal opinions without factual information to support their opinions.

Bert
So it’s a fact C&C does not have a store front but considers itself a dealer. It’s a fact Buck requires Storefront to be a dealer. It’s a fact Buck enforces MAP pricing. It’s a fact C&C doesn’t follow it 100%.
Brick and Mortar costs more to operate and gives a place for customers to see and handle product. Non storefront dealers who only sell online have a distinctive advantage in little to no overhead.
To make things fair Buck requires storefront ,,,,,,,,, unless you are C&C and don’t have the expense of Brick and Mortar or follow MAP. This only applies to stock product, not one offs and exclusives. But C&C carries both for less.

There’s a lot of knowledge in these forums. Very intelligent people.

I didn’t used to care. Blinded by Bucks shiny steel.
But under circumstances not known here I ask the question. Is Copper and Clad a true dealer?

SK blades only sold exclusives and did not fall under dealer criteria. No Map rules to follow.
But shitcanned none the less.

You can’t have it both ways. Enforcing Dealer criteria almost all the time. Or enforce MAP almost all the time. Enforce purchase limits almost all the time:

I want the best for Buck but only if they want it and do the things necessary to be the best. Sliding sideways only creates anti trust.

Whatever they are, they have Buck exclusives. So it appears consensual, no ?

A lot of Us Buy knives from Larry O. He has no store front... Preorder when the new catalogue comes out... I don't mind if the price is right... I like copper and clad and SK... It's all good.....

BCCI should have the ability to order. But should C&C offer the same or better deals as the club?
