I'm not so sure the presence of the model number makes it later.

I sent a question to a source, but hunting season in Idaho may delay a response. I'll be happy if you are correct, Roger.

The cheat sheet I have says only Group 1 included masonite. There were probably some unusual variations over time that didnt follow all the "rules."

but the font size, painted snap, Masonite handle, and "BUCK" stamped under the sheath opening all suggest early to mid 40's Group 1 to me if we can get past the model number question.

My source from Idaho says Group 1.

What’s the steel on that BCCI 532? The one on my 2023 532 at the top of this thread is CM-154. The nail nicks are different, too.
