Copper damascus gyuto
Made from my first ever homemade laminated steel!
Figured to go big and try out copperdamascus. When starting out i never expected it to work the first time. After lot of research and gathering info from fellow makers its an big success.
Cladding is made out of 14 layers of copper and 13 layers of 1075 carbon steel.
A great perfoming core out of 1.2442 tungsten steel. Hard to see in the pictures but the core is actually a bit more light grey. Nice contrast with the dark 1075 carbon steel layers in the cladding.
Handle made out of spalted bog oak from @somewoodblanks.
Nicely matched with a carbon fiber liner with copper layers in it.
3,3mm thick spine at handle with a nice taper towards the taper over the complete length.
