Copper epoxy for guards?

I have a tube of copper epoxy for joining copper plumbing pipe fittings. Has anyone used this for brass guards? Does it bond well with steel and brass? I'm just wondering if this is a good alternative to JB weld. I've tried soldering a few guards, but prefer JB weld because its easier.

If you are just using it as a sealer and not to hold the guard in place I dont see any problem. If you need some strenght then solder.
