Copper patina: should I keep it?

I was playing around with different finishes today and came up with this. Not sure if I like it or not. What do you think?

The finish seems somewhat durable as I couldn't scrub it off with soapy water and scotchbrite.

Was planning to put G10 on them but not sure which color would look good.

Some people contaminate their FeCL with copper to get copper plated finishes. I haven't seen one like that yet, but it's different!

You copper plated them. Copper is soft and will rub off. It will also change color and get dark. Scrub with 600-800grit paper of a fine Scotch Brite and it will come off. Nothing wrong with leaving it, but be aware that it won't stay as it is now.

How about leaving this finish on the flats and sanding the bevel?
I think that would be a cool two-tone finish

Say you were to keep that copper patina, how would you keep from taking it off the spine when sanding the handle to shape and flush with the tang?

Wouldn't that be more of a copper wash? Like what they do to .22lr bullets. I thought plating included electricity?

I say keep it. Just take it off the entire spine/edge. Then with the sharpened edge it will have a unique two-tone look.

It is using electricity. The coper wire and the steel blade create a galvanic current through the copper ion filled FC. The difference in potential makes the copper plate on the steel.
