Onlinemetals.com has it. I haven't ordered from them before but they seem to have a great inventory.

Like Jason said quicker and cheaper to sand down copper ground rod/wire from the local hardware store. If you think brass is soft copper is butter!
I don't have picture but I did this for pins for a few knives with cocobolo scales its pretty but i don't know what it will look like when it turns green.
Good luck,
Ray

Shouldn't turn green if not left out in the elements. I use copper and think it looks better than brass.

Just thinking out loud but is it possible to use some kind of finish over them to prevent it like CA Glue or something to that effect? Or would it really only work if using a CA Glue finish on the handle? Otherwise it would look funny against the handle finish?

Sorry for the mini-hijack Jack. :D

+1 on the ground wire. It comes in 3 or 4 different sizes, so I'd just take my micrometer or calipers on down to Lowe's or HD and get what you need. I got 3 ft for about $1.50

Also copper welding rods in various sizes can be had locally at any welding supply shop.

I just went to the local welding supply shop and bought a crap load of pin material...well, it's a crap load to me. I got brass and stainless in 1/8" but no copper. They didn't have the larger sizes, but a bunch of smaller sizes in copper. 8 stainless and 4 brass, 3 foot rods for $10. I don't know if that's a good price or not, ~$.28/foot sounds good to me.

The salesman told me to check another vendor that caters to artistic welding. He said they carry copper as big as his thumb. I'll be checking that out, maybe tomorrow.
