I own a replica of an old style Russell Green River "Camp" knife that I purchased from Track of the Wolf. I bought it as a blank and finished it myself.

I'd like to have a knifemaker make me copy of the same pattern using either thicker stock or possibly forged.

I have no interest in stepping on anyone's intellectual property rights, o how can I find out if the design I want is copyrighted or in the public domain?

It's my belief that design is in the public domain given that I've seen various versions of it sold at different vendors, made by different manufacturers.

If I'm out of line or posting this in the wrong place, please let me know.

For what it's worth, if I do this, it'll be a Bladeforums mmber that I hire to produce the blank.

Thanks.

John, I'm moving this to an area where you might get more valuable feedback. I would also take a picture of the blank you have and see if AG Russell himself can identify it for you, he is super knowledgeable on this matters.
