Thanks Greg and Dingle. I'm really starting to love working with the fossil coral. It polishes out like glass and it's not that fragile once it's bedded on the knife. All the best.

Andy, Cablemonkey - I appreciate it gentlemen.

Hangmans Joke - Not a stupid question at all. Any of the "fossil" stuff like the coral or mammoth tooth is fragile to a certain degree with a sharp impact. Stabilizing doesn't have the hardening effect that it has on wood. IMHO- if it's well cared for (used in the woods, etc. and not walking around on concrete or where it could drop on a hard surface) then it should last as long as any ivory or other exotic handle material. The same rules would apply that apply to owning an expensive rifle. Don't abuse it and you'll have it forever.

God Bless
