Thanks Gabe,
not sure, just that it was supposedly a closely guarded secret
who knows, a lot of guys do a little something to 01 and call it
special as well, I'm not really sure, can't comment on how well
it works, as this belongs to a friend that's ask me to help him
sell it, as well as some others, he's a gold member on the forum
but wanted help with photographs and posting, the knife is in
my possesion to review and to ship out to whomever would like her.

I know what the exact alloy of this steel is, but I'll have to go from memory here; until I can double check my notes in my desk at work. Corbet told me what it was awhile ago.

Carbon 1.28% Very high percentage of this, as the steel is mainly a carbon tool steel.

Trace elements of:

Chrome
Manganese
Moly

Basically, it's a super high carbon tool steel with just enough trace goodies to enhance grain refinement. Whatever; the stuff works extremely well. Takes and holds a great edge and patinas very nicely.

Thanks Dan, appreciate that insight!

Had a question regarding the one image, the edge looks like it
has something there, was a little dust or something that showed
up when photographed, I took a close up of that area and here
it is;

Thanks Rick, it feels good in the hand, the handle is longer than others
I've seen, which provides a nice grip.
