Where can I get some cord like this? It isn't really shoelace material. Or maybe it is? Appears not to be synthetic, almost made of cotton or something.

Thanks.

it's less than 1/4" wide and is not hollow like shoelace material.

You can get cotton and silk ito from shadowofleaves.com in 4, 6, 8, or 10mm; but cotton doesen't include 4mm.

Try a sewing store. I've seen something that looks very similar to that by where they keep all the different trims, elastics, webbing, etc.

Thanks for the response so far! Keep them coming! I'm looking for a large amount of it...like a spool or gross yard or several hundred feet !

I'm interested too. They used ot sell it at our local wal-mart in the sewing section. we bought their entire inventory then the "bastiges' refused to re-order any. It really is the perfect ito for knives and swords. crisp, cotton, not hollow I have it as ito on one of my ninja sword projects right now

Well it sures looks real nice!

Boot lace would be my bet. Maybe look around at some sporting goods stores and see what they have for replacement laces.....REI or EMS. Good luck!

Fitzo,
That is the stuff I had. I got it at one of the craft stores where they had dozens of sizes and types of cord and such for macramé and other braiding projects.

Looks like a good possibility. I've been on the lookout for thinner cord myself for the smaller blades.

Try "Michael's," "Ben Franklins", or some such craft store. It appears to be like necklace or choker material.
